The Lincoln House began as a work of prayer as members of the A&M Church of Christ and community leaders were discussing the needs of the historic Lincoln Center community in College Station.
When a rental property near the corner of Eleanor and Holleman became available in 2009, the Lincoln House of Hope was born.
From our new location at 1013 Eleanor, we hope to continue to serve our community in the name of Jesus.

There are three major outreach ministry areas at the Lincoln House of Hope:
| Compassion & Care |
WIC ClinicWIC provides services to pregnant women, postpartum women, infants and children up to age five. WIC participants receive nutrition screening, evaluation and counseling from our degreed nutritionist at each certification appointment. Breastfeeding support and nutrition education are also provided as appropriate. In addition to this, food packages that are nutritionally appropriate are provided to each client on a monthly basis throughout their certification period. There is no cost for any WIC service.

Free Monthly Food DistributionOn the second Friday of every month, the Lincoln House of Hope offers a free food distribution. We currently serve more than eighty families each month.

| Life Skills |
Free GED ClassesIn the Fall of 2009, we began offering GED preparation classes at the Lincoln House of Hope. This program is certified with the state of Texas and it takes 60 hours to complete.We have had more than 25 graduates who have gone on to better jobs and greater educational opportunities because of their participation in this program.

| Substance Abuse Counseling |
The Way to Recovery provides professional, personalized and comprehensive faith-based counseling and restorative solutions for individuals and families impacted by addictions. Our staff offers private counseling for people struggling with addictions as well as their families (including youth). Office Hours: Monday – Friday 9 a.m. -5 p.m.

Our Staff

Susie Guy has successfully completed 270 hours in chemical dependency coursework at Sam Houston State University and is a licensed chemical dependency counselor. (LCDC). She has worked in the field of addiction for over 10 years.
Yasmin Brown has completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling at Sam Houston State University and is working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She has five years experience in the field of addiction, including individual and group counseling.
